Program Snapshot
Mission
United Basketball has two primary goals: Development and Exposure. This program focuses on fundamental skill development and player improvement throughout each season. Players have the opportunity to play on very competitive teams that participate in high level, exposure-based tournaments.
About
United Basketball is a high-level spring, summer, and fall basketball program based out of the Hunterdon County, NJ. United Basketball is for the serious and competitive basketball player who wants to improve his or her game in every aspect. We believe that a player’s experience with our program begins with the coach and the surrounding support staff. United boasts a highly qualified and experienced staff of coaches and trainers who have competed and coached at high school and collegiate levels.
History
United Basketball is a non-profit 501C3 organization that was originally founded in 1993 and operated as the Hunterdon Hoosiers. Dr Edward Johnson founded Hunterdon Hoosiers AAU, a program exclusively for girls in Hunterdon County and the surrounding areas. By the year 2000, the Hunterdon Hoosiers had won 5 state championships and represented New Jersey at the National Tournament in both Cocoa Beach, Florida and Amarillo, Texas, placing 17th in the nation in 1995. In 2006, current Hoosier president John Clark worked with Katie Terhune and Megan Haughey to unite other local programs in the county. In the spring of 2007, the programs joined and expanded to add a male side to the AAU program. As of late 2007, United Basketball was created.
